BioAccelergy Ventures (Houston) has signed a joint development agreement with ExxonMobil Research and Engineering (ExxonMobil) to advance the development of a new bio-based oil for the manufacture of lubrication from seed oil and vegetable oil Oil. This multi-year agreement aims to prove the feasibility of producing bio-based oils on a cost-effective commercial scale to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

BioAccelergy will provide its expertise in bio-based feed supply, genetic research and advanced catalytic process development. ExxonMobil will use its industry-leading knowledge in project management, engineering, manufacturing and marketing of base oils.

"BioAccelergy and its affiliates and technology partners have been working with ExxonMobil for the past few years to explore this vertically integrated platform for the conversion of renewable raw materials into high-quality base oils," BioAccelergy CEO Rocco Fiato Express. "We are pleased to have achieved the current milestones and look forward to bringing this technology to commercial scale."

"ExxonMobil continues to develop and provide innovative products to support our customers' sustainability goals," said Mike Kerby, Vice President of Lubricant Technology, ExxonMobil. "Together with BioAccelergy, we are working to determine the commercial viability of producing bio-based oils to help lubricant manufacturers meet today's growing demand for reducing greenhouse gas emissions while maximizing fuel efficiency and equipment durability."

ExxonMobil is one of the world's largest base oil manufacturers and is investing in a series of intelligently designed global base oil plates to provide alternative solutions for lower greenhouse gas emissions and ensure a stable supply for customers.

BioAccelergy and its strategic partners are developing a vertically integrated technology platform, including genetic crop research and bio-based feed production and harvesting, as well as advanced reactor and catalytic bioprocess technology for the production of various high-performance fluids, industrial and automotive lubrication Oil base oil.
