KTM's all-beef 1290 Super Adventure S and 1290 Super Adventure R duo finally headed to the Americas-this year's electronics update gave both machines some extra independence.

Ultimate Motorcycling's report pointed out that both machines will arrive in the United States in 2022, and almost every department will make adjustments to this model season.

Let's dive into the specifications.

Ultimate Motorcycling told us that we got a redesigned rocker arm (longer to achieve linear stability) and a new Chromoly trellis with greater mass on the front wheels. The steering head was pulled back 0.6 inches, and the side fuel tanks were adjusted lower to keep the center of gravity as close to the ground as possible (for tall bicycles in the range of nearly 500 pounds, this makes a big difference).

KTM retains the 1301cc V-twin LC8, which powers these two beasts with a clean 160 horsepower and 138 Nm of yank. An article by TopSpeed also told us that this year’s model "[has been] redesigned to reduce weight by 3.5 pounds. Almost every element has been improved: lubrication, exhaust, transmission, clutch, air box and cooling system, Now it has dual radiators."

Oh, we were told that it is now easier to reach the flight case. Ultimate Motorcycling also stated that there is "a new filter that allows dirt and dust to fall to the bottom of the air tank instead of clogging the filter."

We have a rear suspension and will obviously take more life lessons before it hits the bottom-thanks, KTM.

"There are three presets—sports, street, and comfort—as well as hydraulic spring preload adjustments for the shock absorbers. Ten settings are available, distributed within three-quarters of an inch," said a copy of Ultimate Motorcycling. The report said.

"If that's not enough, there are three selectable modes (Off-Road, Auto and Advanced) and three auto-leveling settings (High, Standard, Low). In addition, the semi-active suspension can adapt to conditions more quickly. Two wheels The strokes are all under eight inches."

(Remember, if you don’t like it, the entire kit and kaboodle can be adjusted anyway.)

This is where the bread and butter are.

This year, KTM equipped Super Adventure S & R with a brand new six-axis IMU with three riding modes-street, sports and off-road. If life is passing by on the fast lane, KTM also includes an optional "pull mode" with nine levels of traction control to attract rougher and rugged types.

With tilt-sensitive traction control and ABS and the ability to turn off the rear wheels (insert the soundtrack in "Initial D"), Super Adventure R benefits from keyless ignition, including the "Race On Remote" system ("relay attack protection, allowing others to change Difficult to clone your remote").

As if this is not cost-effective enough, KTM provides three optional technology packages. Ultimate Motorcycling tells us "Rally Pack adds rally riding modes, traction control adjustability and customizable throttle response. Suspension Pro adds off-road, automatic And advanced presets, allowing you to independently adjust the front fork and shock absorber, provide automatic spring preload adjustment and anti-diving settings. Upgrade to Tech Pack, you will get Rally Pack and Suspension Pro functions, as well as quick shifter, engine Compression brake adjustment and mountain retention function."

To something neat.

"Super adventure...get Bosch radar assisted cruise control," Top Speed added.

"It is the same system on various Ducatis and BMWs and the nearest Kawasaki H2 SX, although in all the bars in Kawasaki, it just faces forward. The rider can set the following distance to the vehicle in front to five presets One of the distance."

The report admits: "In use, this is incredible, and it takes a little time to adapt."

"Accelerating with the vehicle in front is one thing, but when the bicycle detects that the vehicle in front is doing the same thing and brakes automatically, it is another matter."

We are still waiting for the pricing announcement, but since the manufacturer's suggested retail price of the model last year was US$18,599, we expect the price to jump to around US$19,500.
