One of India's leading lubricant and grease production companies invested 50 million dirhams to officially open the region's first factory in the inner port of Sharjah Hamria Free Zone Authority (HFZA).

Trinity Lubes and Grease FC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Siddharth Grease and Lubes (SGL) in India, was formally established on Wednesday, November 17th by Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Oil and Gas, Housing and Urban Affairs of India.

Company officials told Khaleej Times that the total area of the new investment is 12,500 square meters and the production capacity of the manufacturing unit is 50 million liters of grease and lubricants per year.

The plant is the first fully automatic lubricant and grease plant in the Gulf Cooperation Council. It is located in the inner port of the Hamria Free Zone. It provides access for barges to load and unload products and adds value to the supply chain, especially for marine oil.

The products produced by the plant include automotive, industrial and construction lubricants and special greases for electric vehicles.

Location is key: Hardeep Singh Puri

After the official inauguration, Minister Puri said: “This is a happy moment. Usually, when you buy a property, you say location, location, location. I found that if you want to build a factory to make lubricants, location It’s also very important. Trinity Lubes and Grease is right next to the pier. You can make it here and put it on the pier right away."

He thanked the Indian business community gathered at the event for strengthening the relationship between India and the UAE through their economic contributions.

Amar Nath, the additional secretary of the Ministry of Oil and Gas, also joined Puri; Subhash Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of the Indian Petroleum Corporation; Saud Salim Al Mazouel, Director of HFZA; and other officials.

"The Hamria Free Zone is a petrochemical gateway to the world"

Siddharth Grease and Lubes has been operating in India for more than 33 years, serving the world's top 20 oil marketing and bearing companies, the Indian defense sector, and exporting to more than 200 international customers in more than 40 countries on all continents. Executive Managing Director Siddharth Sachdeva Trinity The Lubes and Grease board told Khaleej Times.

Sachdeva stated that the company's decision to enter the region through Sharjah was a strategic decision.

“We have four manufacturing plants in India and export to more than 40 countries. Looking at our export business, we have always wanted to expand to new manufacturing sectors outside of India. The UAE happens to be the first choice,” he said.

"Sharjah best suits our needs. We are currently located in the Hamria Free Zone, which is the petrochemical gateway to the world. If you see our factory here, there will be a ship docked at our factory. This This strategic location is very suitable for the types of products we offer, because it not only helps from a supply chain perspective, but also the direct loading of barges or ships from our factories is a key differentiating factor in our competition,” Sachdeva explained.

The company provides services for brands such as Castrol, Exxon Mobil, Shell and Sheng Brand.

"We have started to serve the Indian government from the new factory," he added. The company has developed a robust expansion plan, and the factory currently has two R&D laboratories.

Trinity will also produce its own brand Grenvo on its website. The brand is currently sold in at least 30 countries around the world. The company’s sales director Mark Mathias told Khaleej Times: “It’s great to work in this fantastic new factory in the UAE, which is one of the important oil gateways to the world.”

Sustainable development goals set by SGL

In view of the extensive environmental issues facing the oil and gas industry, Sachdeva and Mathias stated that the construction of the plant has always kept certain sustainability goals in mind.

"Given the strategic location of the factory, all the suppliers are next door. Because of our location, the emissions from the transportation of raw materials are offset," Matthias said.

Sachdeva said: "The generators in our Indian factory do not use any diesel. We run entirely on natural gas. Our boiler system does not use diesel emissions. We use sewage treatment plants and all our facilities in India are powered by solar energy. We also Collect rainwater."

The company plans to introduce all these initiatives to the Sharjah plant after determining energy requirements.
