SKF System 24 TLSD Series-Ultra-reliable lubrication when the application needs it | African Mining Market

Lubrication requirements are determined by the type of application and operating conditions. Although some applications require continuous lubrication, other applications may only require lubrication while the equipment is running. Regardless of the type of application and its lubrication requirements, extreme reliability and accuracy are prerequisites, as insufficient and excessive lubrication can lead to catastrophic and costly equipment failures and subsequent production shutdowns.

"The SKF System 24 TLSD series has a perfect lubrication solution that can seamlessly meet the requirements of these two applications," said Eddie Martens, SKF Product Manager at Mapro. "There are two different types of lubricators in the TLSD series-electromechanical single-point and wired single-point automatic devices. These TLSD lubricators provide ultra-reliable lubrication and are ideal for applications that require additional monitoring."

Electromechanical single point automatic lubricators are ideal for critical applications that require continuous lubrication. The lubrication device has the best performance at variable temperatures, and is also suitable for remote installation in restricted and hazardous locations, and applications that require a large amount of lubricant. The lubrication kit is equipped with a drive unit, a battery pack, a filled lubricant box and a matching support plate, ready to use.

Wired single-point automatic lubricator is specially developed for discontinuous operation applications and is an ideal choice for industrial equipment, elevators and compressors. The lubricator can be set to provide the correct amount of lubricant during a set period of time and when the equipment or machine is running. As an alternative to battery-powered drive units, the wired drive units are connected by cables to achieve direct power and signal transmission.

The wired single point automatic lubricator is based on the mature single point automatic lubricator TLSD series. The main difference lies in the direct power supply of the machine control panel and the wired signal function to the machine PLC. The output signal of the lubricator can be used and stored in the PLC of the equipment. "Because the lubricator is powered by an external power source, it can be turned on and off when necessary," Martens points out. "Compared with traditional manual relubrication technology, this can improve the accuracy of lubricant supply."

The TLSD lubricator is suitable for direct and remote installation, and the maximum discharge pressure during the entire distribution period is 5 bar. The replaceable filter element contains 125 ml or 250 ml SKF lubricant (grease or oil), which is specially developed for bearing applications. The transparent ink tank can be visually inspected quickly and easily. Both TLSD lubricators provide a variety of accessories.
